Death Over Coffee: A FREE community conversation about dying, death, and how to navigate what comes with it—starting from where you are today, ideally before it’s urgent.

A space for curious minds of all ages to get in on the die-a-logue.
What You Can Expect: Each month features a new conversation starter (we call them die-a-logue starters!) designed to spark meaningful discussion. You'll join a small, facilitated group to talk, listen, and reflect. We wrap up with a few small steps—ideas to consider, conversations to have, or things to explore—so you leave with something personal to carry forward.
We get it—talking about death can feel awkward. But it doesn’t have to be. Death Over Coffee is a relaxed, judgment-free event where people come together to have real conversations about something we all have in common: mortality.

Seating is limited, reservations required.
Think of it as a chance to:
Learn: No two deaths are alike—hear a range of perspectives and insights that can shape your own thinking.
Reflect: Consider what aging, caregiving, and end-of-life decisions mean in your own life and how you might communicate them to those that matter.
Explore: Take a fresh look at the practical side of dying, even if you think you’ve got it all buttoned up.
Support: Discover how we can show up for one another—both now and in the future.
(This is not a grief group, but we know tender topics may come up. You’re encouraged to participate at your own comfort level.)
No experience necessary. No selling or grief counseling. Just guided, small-group conversations sparked by a “die-a-logue” starter question. Come curious, bring a friend—or come solo and leave with new connections.
Why Coffee, Not Cocktails? Death Over Coffee is the morning cousin of our popular “Death Over Drinks” events. Same welcoming format, just earlier in the day and without alcohol—perfect for folks who prefer daylight discussions and want to keep their evening options open.
About the Pre-Dead Social Club: We’re on a mission to bring fresh energy to vital conversations about dying and death, fostering understanding among individuals, loved ones, and the professionals they rely on. Together, we cultivate clarity, build confidence, and advocate for compassionate, personalized end-of-life experiences.
Want to stay in the loop? Registering adds you to our email list so you’ll hear about upcoming events and programs (unsubscribe anytime—we never share your info).
Health Note: If you’re feeling unwell or have been exposed to contagious illness, please join us next time. We appreciate your care for the community.
“Death is an event. Dying is a process...with a fuzzy-at-best timeline,” shares death doula and Founder of the Pre-Dead Social Club, Laura Cleminson. “As a society we’re living longer with varying degrees of health. You are a solo-agers or have our loved ones scattered across time zones and zip codes. Add to that, many of us will be asked to navigate critical health care decisions in the ever changing landscape of modern medicine—so thinking about a peaceful exit today prepares us for tomorrow.”
Please arrive by 9:50am, help yourself to a cup of coffee (iced or hot). We’ll kick things off at 10am and at 11:15am we’ll share some shared reflections before you depart (no pun intended!) with something that might “break the ice” with someone else down the road.
