The Pre-Dead Social Club is on a mission to foster open die-a-logue and strengthen community ties surrounding topics relating to death, dying, and end-of-life decisions. By creating supportive spaces, they empower individuals to express their fears and desires regarding mortality, making it easier for them to comfortably communicate and confidently advocate for what’s most important to themselves and their families, ultimately leading to a more peaceful and dignified final exit.
Opportunities to Participate
The founder of the Pre-Dead Social Club, Laura Cleminson, was invited to the TEDx stage to share how starting a social club for anyone not dead yet to explore topics related to our shared mortality is a club worth joining and “an idea worth spreading”. Sharing this video or watching it with a loved or friend, might just be what you need to start that important die-a-logue! You can watch her 11 min talk HERE.
The Pre-Dead Social Club exists for anyone “not dead yet” who is looking for others willing and interested to connect on topics related to death, dying and end-of-life outside of a medical institution, a lawyer’s office or place of worship!
The Pre-Dead Social Club creates in-person (and virtual) opportunities to talk (or as we like to say die-a-logue), write, read and create on matters related to our mortality. We do this in small groups, as part of larger roundtable discussions and other events both in-person and virtually.
WARNING: Active participation can result in: rediscovering your own practical wisdom related to death and dying; reduced feelings of isolation; increased empathy for yourself and others; expanded perspectives; and FINALLY making progress on the practical elements of leaving the planet.
